VERIFICATION

Every record carries dated evidence of when its sources were read and when the record was last checked against the world. Each source in a record's source list carries an accessed-on date recording when the document was fetched and read. Each record carries a last-verified date, an assessed-on date for each grade, and a review-due date set 6 months after verification.

Every source lists its publisher and URL, so any reader can retrieve the same document and check any figure in the record against it. Records state where a source could not be retrieved (for example, a 403 or 404 response) and what that absence means for confidence; those statements live in each record's confidence notes.

A record whose review-due date has passed by more than 120 days displays an overdue notice on its page and in the registry table. Overdue figures should be treated as historical until re-verified. Re-verification re-runs the grading procedure; political durability and outcome status are the fields most likely to move.

An automated snapshot chain for tracked sources (fetch, normalise, hash, and diff of every tracked source, so that a record can show whether its sources have changed since they were read) is in build and not yet running. Until it runs, verification is manual: dates on the record are the evidence, and archived-copy slots in source lists remain empty. No claim is made here about machinery that does not exist.

If verification finds an error in a published record, the correction is logged publicly and dated at /corrections and the record is amended with its status history preserved. Records are never silently edited.
